Jarret Schecter

Founder + President

Jarret spent nearly two decades as a documentary photographer, capturing life on the margins and in the mainstream – from refugee camps in East Africa to surgeries aboard a flying eye hospital in Cuba. Motivated by a desire to move from observer to changemaker, he began volunteering with internationally-focused nonprofits. In 2018, Jarret founded TEEEM to empower students and social entrepreneurs to lead global change through hands-on engagement with humanitarian initiatives across five continents.

The movement that propelled TEEEM from concept to reality was March for Our Lives. This youth-led initiative demonstrated the powerful impact students can have when given the tools and platform to support causes they care about. It confirmed what he had long believed: that young people, when empowered, can be a driving force for global change.
